Policies + Shipping


Star Strung is the collaborative effort of two souls working out of their home studio using hand cut and precious stones and metals to create one of a kind, handcrafted jewelry, decor, and hand selected mineral specimens or objects for home or altar decoration. Please read the following policies in place before purchasing to keep this small business running as smoothly as possible. By purchasing, it is indicated that you have read and agree to the following policies. How to Purchase

All payments are made through this website or via emailed invoice for certain situations such as auctions, additional costs such as upgraded shipping, custom work, etc. Various methods of payment are accepted such as debit card, credit card, paypal, apple pay, google pay, and installments via Shoppay. Checkout must be fully completed before an item is guaranteed, simply placing it in your cart will not reserve the item. Faster checkout can be achieved by making an account on our website or logging into Paypal beforehand for Paypal Express Checkout

Due to the handcrafted nature of our work, some items are listed on the website during scheduled releases. Time and date of each release will be posted to our social media pages (Facebook + Instagram), as well as on the homepage of our website. Listings are posted to the website at the exact time listed (in pacific standard time - be sure to convert to your local time zone). Releases tend to sell out fast, so it is advised to set a reminder or alarm for the specified time. Countdown reminders are posted to our Instagram Stories before each sale to help you convert to your local time as well. Following us on Instagram can help keep you notified as quickly as possible about any release rescheduling or relevant information about upcoming sales. If all items are listed as sold out on the online store or there are no items available in the store, that means we are between releases.

To ensure that as many people as possible have an equal and fair chance at our items NO holds, reserves, or custom work (unless part of a listing or otherwise arranged) is allowed.  We hope that you can understand that this is the best possible way we have found to move forward and smoothly with our tight release schedules as just two artists running a small business.

Shipping

 

In order to streamline our visits to the post office, ready to ship orders may take up to 3-5 days after purchase to be shipped out. Labels may be printed up to 3 days before packages are dropped off at our local shipping providers. 

Multiple orders/overcharged for shipping: Sometimes due to the way the items are coded in Shopify if you buy multiple items with different shipping profiles you may be overcharged. If the overcharge is more than $5.98 the difference will be refunded. This process may take a few business days to reflect on your method of payment. If the overcharge is $5.98 or less then your order will receive upgraded shipping.

Shipping within the United States:

  • Items under $195 have the option to use First Class: $4.98
  • or Priority shipping via USPS: $9.98
  • Items over $195 have the option to use USPS Priority: $9.98 (comes with $100 insurance)
  • or UPS 3 Day Select: $15 - if expedited shipping not listed here is needed please email within 24 hours of purchasing. 
  • Crystal Specimens are typically shipped via USPS Priority shipping due to weight: $9.98
  • First Class shipping may not be possible due to weight of item. If you prefer UPS or other shipping method let us know in the notes at checkout or email us at contact@starstrung.com
  • Some décor items/Gift Bundles due to their weight will be shipped USPS Priority: $14

International Shipping: Be sure to check the USPS website to ensure that your country is accepting mail as COVID policies may change. If express shipping is desired contact us within 24 hours of purchase.

Canada: 
  • Jewelry & lightweight décor items: USPS First Class International $15
  • Crystal Specimens, heavier decor, gift bundles:  USPS First Class International $25

Australia/New Zealand/Japan: 

  • Jewelry & lightweight décor items: USPS First Class International $20
  • Crystal Specimens, heavier decor, gift bundles:  USPS First Class International $32

(please note that not all items may be available for international orders outside of Canada, Japan, New Zealand, or Australia due to demand/supply and scheduled shop releases. For serious inquiries contact us to discuss)

 These shipping choices have been made to try to get your purchased item to you in the safest and quickest methods possible. While we are not responsible for what happens to your package once it leaves our hands, we are dedicated to providing it the best possibility of reaching your destination. 

Periodically USPS raises its rates, and will be reflected in shipping costs. If any other shipping provider, additional insurance, or express rates are desired please contact us as soon as possible after purchase to arrange this. An email or text will be sent to the email address or phone number provided once the shipping label is printed with your tracking information. If you ever have any questions or concerns about your package please let us know, however, we are not responsible for any lost or stolen items once they have left our studio.  

We ship worldwide! Shipping times vary depending on purchaser's location and method of shipment. US Domestic shipping typically tends to take 2-5 days (without delays) and International can very from 1-8 weeks (without seasonal or weather related delays). International shipping may be subject to additional customs duty or import fees and are the responsibility of the buyer. Please do not ask to have us alter the customs value with false information as this is illegal. If International buyers have any concerns over shipping please contact us as soon as possible for additional options. 

All orders are sent ready to gift via recyclable boxes or bubble mailers for small items like stacking rings (without stones) or acrylic earrings. Items are packaged as safely and eco-friendly as possible with recyclable materials when available. Inside each order your item will be pleasantly wrapped, with a care card for your home decor item or for metals used in jewelry and a card that provides information on your specific item purchased that details how to care for the stones used (if any) and any other pertinent information about the creation with a hand written thank you note. Please read these cards to ensure the longevity of your jewelry or decor. To streamline shipping and keep it as earth friendly as possible, invoices will not be shipped with the order unless they are international orders, as they are emailed at checkout. If you would like one sent simply contact us. 

Returns

Please read all Policies and item descriptions before purchasing! 

Sterling Silver Jewelry: Based on the type of setting or stone used, resizing may not be available. Contact us as soon as possible once the ring is received to inquire about resizing or returning options. An additional fee may be asked for resizing. Exchanges may or may not be available depending on the one of a kind nature of the design or elements used. All sales of custom sized or designed work is final and non-refundable or exchangeable. 

Resizing: If resizing is needed please contact us as soon as possible once the item arrives. Due to how the piece is made, or the delicate nature of the stones used, a resizing may not be available. If a resizing has been agreed upon, the customer must send the item back (preferably in the same box it arrived in) and pay a resizing fee of $25-$50 depending on the size/labor involved. 

All Items: If a return is desired, we must be contacted within 14 days of arrival at buyer's destination. Refunds will not be issued for items damaged by the buyer. Item must be in its original condition to receive a full refund. A refund will be issued once it is back in our possession and condition of the item can be verified. All shipping charges for returns are the responsibility of the buyer. Please repackage in its original box to ensure it arrives back to us safely. Refunds are issued via our website and may take some time to process. For any issues with your purchase, contact us immediately. We reserve the right to refuse any refund, however, we pride ourselves on our customer service and want to leave our customers as satisfied as possible, so please contact us as we may be flexible depending on the situation.
